Truth Social will be creating a new service to give financial firms and businesses “the fastest access” to the most influential accounts on the social media platform, including President Donald Trump’s, Trump Media and Technology Group announced on Thursday.
The new Truth API, or application programming interface, is a data feed that allows firms and businesses that would benefit from early access to influential posts access to “licensed, real-time” content on Truth Social. Many major social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, and X, have APIs available, but Truth Social is a notably different platform, as it is home to many of Trump’s breaking news announcements on market-moving topics such as the Iran war, tariffs, and executive appointments.
The Trump Media announcement said the Truth API service will give major financial services partners and “organizations most impacted by the cost of a delay in information” paid, real-time access to posts from the “highest-ranking Truth Social accounts” starting on Aug. 1. The company said it already has several customers signed up for the service.
“Markets already move on Truth Social posts,” Kevin McGurn, Trump Media’s interim chief executive officer, said in a statement. “Truth API delivers a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving Truths while advancing our strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream.”
Trump has the most followers of any Truth Social user, with 12.9 million followers on the platform, as of Thursday. Some of the other most-followed accounts include the president’s two sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza, and Fox News’s Sean Hannity, according to a 2025 SEO.AI posting.
The president has made several policy announcements on his Truth Social account regarding information critical to the financial markets, including U.S. military policies in the Strait of Hormuz during the Iran war and setting or revoking tariff rates on U.S. trade partners.
Trump has made several announcements throughout the Iran war about the state of the crucial oil-shipping strait and the delicate ceasefire agreement on Truth Social that have affected financial markets and moved the price of oil. Much action in the war has also been on late Friday evenings or over the weekend, including when the United States and Israel first struck Iran before dawn on Saturday, Feb. 28, aligning with market closures.
Truth API is the company’s first API service, meaning financial markets have been relying on their own manual monitoring of the platform for these market-moving announcements from the president. The company did not specifically mention Trump or any other users in the announcement.

“As adoption grows, we expect Truth API to become a meaningful, ongoing source of revenue for the company, creating lasting value for shareholders,” McGurn said.
Trump’s family is the largest shareholder in the publicly traded Trump Media and Technology Group, which owns Truth Social, according to CNBC.
