President Donald Trump said he’s “No. 1 on TikTok,” claiming his influence on the platform surpasses that of many other creators.
Trump posted the video to his TikTok account Saturday, standing next to the Declaration of Independence, which he described as a “great honor.”
He captioned the video, “I’M NUMBER ONE ON TIKTOK! STOP COMMUNISM!”
“I keep hearing so much about TikTok and all of the influence they have and that how it’s unfair and how it’s this and that. But here’s the only problem: I’m No. 1 on TikTok,” Trump said.
Trump held up a sheet of paper that said “TRUMP on TIKTOK” on the top and also said “425 BILLION all-time views of #TRUMP TikToks.”
The paper also had subcategories for policy and pop culture.
The bottom of the sheet said “+1 BILLION VIEWS across UFC 250, Trump’s Iran Peace Deal, and ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’ TikToks IN JUST 48 HOURS.” It’s unclear where the statistics came from.
“Can you believe it? I’m No. 1. Look at those numbers. Billions and billions of people are looking at Trump, and I keep hearing about the influence other people have. I don’t know, how come I’m No. 1 if they have so much influence?” Trump said.
“There’s your numbers, so I think we have influence too, and I’m saying stop communism.”
