Supreme Court Associate Justices Elena Kagan and Amy Coney Barrett are set to testify on Capitol Hill at both 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The two justices will appear before the House appropriations subcommittee on financial services and general government this morning for a budget hearing, and then they will head over to the Senate’s version of the subcommittee later this afternoon.
SUPREME COURT JUSTICES KAGAN AND BARRETT TO TESTIFY ON CAPITOL HILL
Kagan and Barrett will give their input before both committees on the Supreme Court’s fiscal 2027 budget request and address the court’s $14.6 million request for security enhancements in the face of repeated threats against the justices.
Barrett is likely to field questions from Republican lawmakers over her controversial birthright citizenship vote as well, after ruling against a major priority of President Donald Trump.
