Dave Portnoy says he’d run for NYC mayor against Mamdani — and he’s dead serious

.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy said he would run for mayor of New York City and criticized the socialist movements taking over the country.

“I would love to run [against Mamdani]. If I was going to run, it would be here [New York]. Can I win here? I have no idea,” Portnoy said on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime Monday.

“I’ve always thought I would never get involved in politics. I think you can do more in the private sector. This, and what is going on, has actually made me pause that thought.”

Portnoy said he’s “nervous, scared, shocked” about this new wave of socialists and communists being elected.

“It’s crazy what’s going on right now, and I don’t know how you can’t be scared,” Portnoy said.

He argued that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is delivering on his promise to get “socialists, communists elected and take over.”

Portnoy said it can be a pain to be involved in politics, saying, “Why do I want to ruin my life?” But he said he feels a sense of responsibility.

“Sometimes I do feel like it’s my duty. I can’t turn away. I feel like I could make a change, maybe I do run in politics,” Portnoy said.

“I spend a lot of my day losing my mind over what’s happening right now.”

Portnoy also criticized Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner, who faced controversy over a Nazi tattoo he got during his time in the military, later getting it covered up.

“You got the Nazi in Maine. This really, really, really worries me,” Portnoy said.

SOCIALISTS FAILING TO DELIVER THE WORKING CLASS TO DEMOCRATS

“I’ve had a real job, I’ve done real things, unlike these clown politicians who have never had a job and have never been in the real world for a day.”

He said voters who support these socialist candidates “never want to vote for common sense.”
