Trump announces ‘Tribute to America’ July Fourth rally on the National Mall

President Donald Trump announced on Monday he will host a “Tribute to America” rally on July 4 in Washington, D.C.

The holiday is set to be particularly grand in the capital city this year, as the country celebrates 250 years of independence. The president said the day would feature “the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all” with an address from himself, music from “my playlist,” flyovers and military shows featuring “top” pilots, “the largest formation of Joint Military Music and Ceremonial performances in History,” and a magnificent fireworks show. The event will start at 7 p.m., Trump said.

“On July 4th, at The Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, in beautiful and safe Washington, D.C., we are going to host the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all, a ‘TRIBUTE TO AMERICA,’ “the president wrote in a post to Truth Social.

“This HUGE Celebration will honor our Country’s People, Spirit, Strength, Resolve, and Triumphs,” he continued. “With the backdrop of the Lincoln Memorial and surrounding the beautifully new Reflecting Pool, more than 300 Members of our strong and talented Military Bands, Orchestras, and Ceremonial Units, will perform Patriotic Melodies and American Classics, and my Playlist (We will have none of those people that put you to sleep and constantly complain!), as we celebrate our Country, and Rally into the next 250 years.”

Freedom 250, the organization Trump spearheaded to mark the semiquincentennial, is helping lead the occasion. The group anticipates that over a million people will gather on the National Mall during July Fourth festivities, in “one of the grandest displays of patriotism that the world has ever seen.”

“The schedule includes ceremonies honoring service members, storytelling of everyday heroes, and decade‑spanning musical performances supported by choirs, marching bands, and artists. This landmark moment will be a sweeping national showcase of history, talent, and spectacle,” reads Freedom 250’s website.

Trump’s announcement Monday came just hours after another historic event aimed at marking the United States’s 250th anniversary wrapped up on the White House’s South Lawn. Trump and a host of other notable attendees attended the UFC Freedom 250 fight, the first of its kind to be held in such a manner.
