Democrats nominated Platner to ‘connect better’ with men: Guy Benson

.

Washington Examiner senior columnist Guy Benson argued Graham Platner became the Democratic nominee for Senate in Maine to increase male support in the party.

“I think that there is a reason why Maine Democrats decided to nominate Graham Platner, because they were like, ‘We need to connect better with men. We need someone who’s manly,’” Benson said Thursday on Fox News’s Gutfeld!.

Leading up to Benson’s comments about Platner, Benson said there needs to be an investigation into the “pandemic” of male vocal fry, also known as “liberal dude voice.”

Benson said Democrats also believe Platner will connect better with men because they are used to the “liberal dude voice,” and Platner’s “deep voice” is different from that.

“So [Democrats] have gone with the guy who actually embodies every single checklist item of actual toxic masculinity that they’ve been, like, lecturing us for years,” Benson said. “They’ve picked the real one of that in Graham Platner.”

Platner became the Democratic nominee for Senate in Maine on Tuesday, besting Gov. Janet Mills (D-ME) after she dropped out of the primary race in late April.

‘NEW MAN’ GRAHAM PLATNER CAN’T STOP LYING

In the days before the primary, Platner faced numerous allegations, including abuse accusations from former partners. He also sent sexually explicit texts to other women shortly after getting married in 2023.

Platner has denied the abuse accusations reported by the New York Times, calling them “politically motivated.”
