UFC CEO Dana White and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are signing a memorandum of understanding on sports diplomacy on Thursday.
The pair is expected to sign the agreement at 2:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C. The memorandum will mark “a new public-private partnership to enhance sports diplomacy initiatives and collaborate on the global growth of mixed martial arts,” according to the State Department.
The development comes just days before UFC holds its first-ever fight at the White House, as a celebratory event marking the United States’s 250th birthday.
