WATCH LIVE: Mullin testifies on Capitol Hill for second day

Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin is testifying before Congress for the second day in a row regarding his department’s budget request for the upcoming fiscal year.

The Department of Homeland Security is requesting $118.4 billion in overall funding for fiscal 2027, starting Oct. 1, as proposed by the White House. Nearly $23 billion of that money is reserved for Customs and Border Protection, and another $10.5 billion is set aside for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Mullin and Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Troy Edgar will testify in front of the House Homeland Security Committee. Both answered lawmakers’ questions in front of a Senate appropriations subcommittee the day before.

The House hearing is set to start at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
