The judge in the case, Utah state Judge Tony Graf, is expected to decide on Monday whether the preliminary hearing in Robinson’s case will be open to the public and to reporters. Robinson’s defense attorneys have asked for the early July hearing to be closed to the public.

The hearing, set for July 6-10, will be when prosecutors will present their evidence for the need for a trial in the case, according to ABC News. Robinson is charged with murdering Kirk at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025.
