Police in Fredericksburg, Virginia, are searching for a suspect wearing a pink costume who was allegedly targeting children.
The Fredericksburg Police Department said they were alerted to suspicious activity around 4:30 p.m. in the Lafayette Boulevard corridor on May 14.

Police obtained a picture of the suspect, and said patrols have increased in the area following the incident.
A mother spoke anonymously to Fox5, saying her two children noticed the person near their bus stop.
She said once the bus left, the person allegedly chased the children, and one girl was nearly grabbed. The mother said the girl’s sister managed to pull her away.

The woman told Fox5 that her children are feeling “traumatized” by the situation, and she wants police to find the person to “give them that peace.”
Officials said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information to call the police.
