Trump slams ‘Dumbocrats’ and says ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ is ‘actually a disease’

President Donald Trump on Monday unveiled a new nickname for congressional Democrats, labeling the opposition as “Dumbocrats” for opposing his administration.

Trump made the comments during an Oval Office event unveiling a new administration effort to lower the cost of in vitro fertilization. During the nearly hourlong event, Trump blasted Democrats for being unwilling to support good ideas in Congress emanating from the White House.

“You can say that we’re going to reduce drug prices by 80% and we won’t get one Democrat vote,” Trump said. “I don’t know how they get away with it. That’s why we call them the Dumbocrats. We have the new name, the Dumbocrats, because they’re dumb.”

“They’re dumb people, and they just can’t do it,” Trump said. “I’ve been waiting so long for them to change, but they just keep losing, and they’ve got to keep losing with their policies.”

Earlier in the event, the president also joked that “Trump Derangement Syndrome” is “actually a disease,” while discussing how Democrats opposed a “$50 billion” investment in rural healthcare that was included in last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill.

“Every Democrat in Congress voted against this historic funding,” Trump said. “Well, they suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome. They don’t even know what they’re looking at. They can’t even see straight.”

Trump joked that he had found a way to leverage Trump Derangement Syndrome to his benefit.

“I’m going to propose something the opposite of what I want,” Trump said. “We will have massive amounts of legislation, all I have to say is: ‘We will not build the wall’ and they’ll build it. I’m going to go the opposite, whatever is bad, I’m going to go for it and they’ll approve what’s good to fund.

“They have got serious Trump Derangement Syndrome, which is actually a disease,” Trump said. “I’m hearing it’s actually a disease.”
