President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday night to once again criticize former FBI Director James Comey over his social media post on Instagram from a year ago that the president said was a code to carry out a sinister act.
Trump called Comey a “dirty cop” and claimed that the photo of seashells in the sand that depicted the numbers “86 47” was a message or code that meant to “kill President Trump.” He also explained that the “86” portion was a mob term for “kill him.”
“‘86’ is a mob term for ‘kill him,’” Trump said in his post. “They say 86 him! 86 47 means ‘kill President Trump.’ James Comey, who is a Dirty Cop, one of the worst, knows this full well! EIGHT MILES OUT, SIX FEET DOWN! Didn’t he also lie to the FBI about this??? I think so!”
TRUMP SAYS JAMES COMEY ‘PROBABLY’ ENDANGERED HIS LIFE WITH ‘8647’ POST
Trump’s post came hours after his comments during an event at the White House earlier on Wednesday, in which the president said he believed Comey endangered his life by posting the controversial photo.
“Based on what I’m seeing out there, yeah,” Trump said in response to a question about whether Comey endangered his life. “People like Comey have created tremendous danger for politicians and others. You know, Comey is a dirty cop.”
“Well, if anybody knows anything about crime, they know 86, you know, in the ’80s, it’s a mob term for kill him,” explained Trump. “You ever see the movies, ’86 ’em,’ the mobster says to one of his wonderful associates, ’86 ’em,’ that means kill him. I think of it as a mob term. People think of it as something having to do with disappearing.”
A grand jury in North Carolina indicted Comey on Tuesday over the photo, the Washington Examiner previously reported. The grand jury also requested an arrest warrant. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche categorized Comey’s post as a threat against the life of a president and a “grave violation of our laws.”
“The grand jury returned an indictment alleging James Comey did just that, at a time when this country has witnessed violent incitement followed by deadly actions against President Trump and other elected officials,” Blanche said.
JAMES COMEY POSTS VIDEO IN RESPONSE TO NEW INDICTMENT
Meanwhile, Comey posted a video to his Substack on Tuesday night, declaring his innocence of the charges against him.
“Well, they’re back,” Comey said. “This time about a picture of seashells on a North Carolina beach a year ago.”
“And this won’t be the end of it, but nothing has changed with me,” Comey said. “I’m still innocent, I’m still not afraid, and I still believe in the independent federal judiciary. So, let’s go.”
