Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said on Thursday that President Donald Trump fires “only” women from his Cabinet.
“Is he out of women?” Ocasio-Cortez said when asked who the president should fire next. “Trump only seems to have the capability to fire female secretaries. If you’re a man in the Trump administration, it seems that they reward misconduct.”
Just over a year into Trump’s second presidency, three women have been fired from his Cabinet: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and, just this week, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.
The Washington Examiner contacted the White House for comment.
While only women have been fired from Trump’s Cabinet this term, he fired many men during his first term, from 2017 to 2021. Those firings included Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, White House chief of staff John Kelly, and Defense Secretary Mark Esper.
Ocasio-Cortez’s comments are just the latest in a long-running back-and-forth with the president.
“Stupid AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, one of the ‘dumbest’ people in Congress, is now calling for my Impeachment, despite the fact that the Crooked and Corrupt Democrats have already done that twice before,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post last year.

“Mr. President, don’t take your anger out on me – I’m just a silly girl,” the New York Democrat wrote on X in response to the post. “Take it out on whoever convinced you to betray the American people and our Constitution by illegally bombing Iran and dragging us into war. It only took you 5 months to break almost every promise you made.”
