Trump is putting money back in the pockets of Americans: Joe Concha

.

Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said the tax refunds from President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act are putting money back in people’s pockets.

“Most Americans, regardless of how they vote, Democrat, Republican, independent, they want more money back in their pockets instead of in the hands of the government,” Concha said on Fox Business’s Evening Edit Thursday.

Concha’s comments come a day after Tax Day, when the public has to file and pay their taxes.

So far this season, the average tax refund is about 11% higher than this same time period last year, according to IRS filing data

The filing data also showed the average refund as of April 3 is $3,462.

Concha highlighted that despite Democratic policies in places such as New York City and Virginia, Trump’s tax refunds are allowing Americans to retain more of their money.

“Talk to your neighbor and say, ‘Are your tax returns higher than they’ve been in years?’ and they will say yes,” Concha said. “And that’s as a result of Democrats voting for higher taxes and the Big Beautiful Bill that was passed last year, obviously bringing more money back into families’ budgets.”

“Therefore, that makes the economy purr,” he said.

Among the increased tax returns from the OBBBA, the president also received praise over the “no tax on tips” legislation that Trump championed.

HOW TAX FILING HAS CHANGED DUE TO TRUMP’S ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL ACT

Trump’s approval rating in terms of the economy hit a career time low of 31%, according to an April CNN poll

Concha pointed out that Trump is taking other steps to give the public more of their money, including the tariff refunds that Concha said could be “thousands per family.”
