Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly said President Donald Trump’s AI-generated photo, which depicted him as Jesus Christ, is clout-chasing and a mockery.
“I don’t know why the president’s getting so desperate for attention that he feels the need to mock 1.4 billion Catholics,” Kelly said Monday on The Megyn Kelly Show.
“Now, it’s Catholics. Who’s next? I bet you it’s not going to be the Jews,” she said. “It’s not going to be the Israelis. I promise you that.”
Kelly said Trump’s “downward spiral” is resonating with his party.
“Other than Fox News boomers, there’s no one left in the original MAGA coalition,” she said.
Trump received backlash for the Sunday post on Truth Social. Influencers and activists commented on the post, calling it “blasphemy.” The post came after the president criticized Pope Leo XIV.
The president deleted the post as of Monday.
Kelly said Trump’s base wants him to focus on the economy, not Iran.
“They care about their pocketbooks and being able to pay their mortgages,” she said.
She said Trump had a different pull when he first came into the presidency. She said his “special sauce” was that he came from money but could relate to the working class.
“Get back to that, for the love of God,” Kelly said. “Stop waking up thinking about how you can bomb the Iranians.”

Trump addressed the post on Monday during a press gaggle where he said to Fox News reporters, “I thought it was me as a doctor, and it had to do with the Red Cross.”
“It’s supposed to be me as a doctor making people better, and I do make people better,” he said.
