Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson started selling $35 caps with “Low IQ” phrasing on Friday after President Donald Trump mocked him and three other conservative commentators.
In a 485-word Truth Social post on Thursday, Trump took aim at Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones for criticizing his handling of the Iran war. Pulling no punches, he hurled personal insults at them and their intelligence, claiming that they no longer represent the Make America Great Again movement.
The name-calling was rather divisive among Trump’s supporters on social media, but Carlson’s private media company capitalized on the president’s tirade by unveiling new merchandise.
“Calling all nut jobs, troublemakers, and third rate podcasters! New merch just dropped,” the Tucker Carlson Network posted on X, echoing the names that Trump used to describe the pundits.
The post tagged each of the commentators’ X accounts in addition to the one held by former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). Trump dedicated a portion of his screed to excoriate her as well.
Part of the Carlson-owned streaming network’s “Thank You, Mr. President Collection,” the hats come in red, gray, or a red-white-and-blue color scheme. At the moment, those are the only available items for purchase in the collection.
“At the heart of everything we do is our firm belief in the dignity of the human person,” the TCN website states in a thinly veiled blow at Trump’s rant. “We will honor your God-given dignity by always telling you the truth. And in so doing, we will once again prove the iron law that true things prevail.”
Ever since attacking Iran in late February, Trump has been putting distance between his political movement and Carlson.
The war in Iran has been a cause for concern among right-leaning voters, especially after Trump campaigned on ending wars in 2024. His recent messaging, however, frames the operation as a necessary means to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons with enriched uranium.
The four commentators attacked by Trump have been increasingly critical of the foreign conflict.
For instance, Carlson called Trump’s Easter morning post about the Iran war “vile on every level” for mocking both Islam and Christianity with the tongue-in-cheek phrase: “Praise be to Allah.”
Notably, Carlson responded to Trump’s commentator-bashing post in his Friday newsletter by suggesting Israel is blackmailing Trump into continuing Operation Epic Fury. The claim comes as the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran tentatively remains in effect.
TRUMP GOES SCORCHED EARTH ON TUCKER CARLSON, MEGYN KELLY, CANDACE OWENS, AND ALEX JONES
Owens mockingly responded to Trump’s post: “It may be time to put Grandpa up in a home.”
Additionally, Jones said he agreed with liberal influencer Ed Krassenstein “for the first time ever” about Trump’s divisive comments. It appears Kelly has not directly responded to the president’s statement yet, although she did complain about his extreme rhetoric earlier this week.
