President Donald Trump is set to speak at around 10:00 a.m. at the Shield of the Americas Summit in Doral, Florida.
The summit first gained attention on Thursday, when Trump fired Kristi Noem from her role as Homeland Security Secretary and appointed her instead as Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas. Trump said the group is a “new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere.”

Leaders from 12 Western Hemisphere nations, including Argentina, El Salvador, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras, will be in attendance, according to ABC news. Canada and Mexico were not listed.
“The point of this newfound Latin America Summit is to promote freedom, security and prosperity in our region,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters.
