Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said that as cities get more blue, states across the country are getting more red.
“What does that do for elections? I still think swing states are swing states, and they’re going more red,” Concha said on Fox & Friends First Friday. “Ohio and Florida used to be 50-50 states; now they’re profoundly red. The blue wall is no longer is the blue wall.”
Concha’s remarks come after Tuesday’s primary elections in Arkansas, Texas, and North Carolina, where Democrats reportedly had a higher turnout than Republican voters.
Since Texas state Rep. James Talarico defeated Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) for the U.S. Senate Democratic nomination, Talarico’s previous remarks and social media posts have surfaced.
In one old comment displayed during Concha’s appearance on Fox News, Talarico said God is both “masculine” and “feminine.”
When asked whether he thinks the country is changing, Concha said it is going more red.
“In the end, while cities may go more blue, I think the rest of the country goes more red,” Concha said. “Ultimately, that’s better for capitalism than socialism.”

Concha said Democrats are “counting” on socialist ideas in upcoming elections, as polling shows a majority of Democrats believe socialism is a “good thing.”
“I guess they’re counting on this because that seems to be where things are going,” Concha said.
