The Daily Wire and Ben Shapiro are working with former Marvel actor Jonathan Majors for a new, untitled movie that begins filming this week.
Majors starred as the antagonist in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) and also starred as the villain in Creed III (2023). He co-starred in the HBO Max series Lovecraft Country.
The plot details are currently unknown, but according to Deadline, it is similar to 1980s and ’90s action films Red Dawn (1984) and Toy Soldiers (1984), which depict teenage boys preparing for battle.
Shapiro is working with Dallas Sonnier to produce the film. Kyle Rankin, director of Run Hide Fight (2020), is directing the movie.

Majors’s career was upended in 2023 when he was found guilty of assaulting his former girlfriend. One of the projects he was dropped from during this debacle was the United States Army’s “Be All You Can Be” ad campaign.
This is not the first time Daily Wire has collaborated with an actor that Hollywood has distanced itself from. The news outlet hired The Mandalorian actor Gina Carano to star in Terror on the Prairie (2022). Disney fired Carano from the show over comments she had made on social media regarding bias against conservatives.

Carano criticized Disney’s decision. The company settled a lawsuit Carano filed against Disney last year, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Washington Examiner reached out to the Daily Wire and Shapiro for comment.
