The Air Force will soon roll out a new paint job for its presidential and VIP airline fleet.
The decision will rid Air Force One and other airplanes used by the executive branch of their light-blue color scheme established during the Kennedy administration in the early 1960s.
The new colors are red, white, gold, and dark blue.

“The Air Force is implementing a new paint scheme requirement (red, white, gold, and dark blue) for VC-25B as well as the additional executive airlift fleet, which will include the new 747-8i and four C-32 aircraft,” the spokesperson told the Washington Examiner. “The C-32s will be painted during regularly scheduled maintenance. The first C-32 has been painted and is expected to be delivered to the Air Force in the next few months.”
The new colors will appear on planes, including the jet donated by Qatar and two airplanes that Boeing intends to convert to serve as Air Force One.
