Virginia nurse fired after encouraging others to drug ICE and ‘get them sick’

.

A Virginia nurse was fired Tuesday after encouraging colleagues to drug Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

Malinda Cook, a nurse anesthetist at Virginia Commonwealth University Health, was terminated after making a series of controversial social media posts. The hospital said in a statement that the videos were “highly inappropriate and do not reflect the integrity or values of our health system.”

“Sabotage tactic, or at least scare tactic. All the medical providers, grab some syringes with needles on the end,” the nurse said on one clip posted to TikTok from the now-deleted account Redheadredemption.

“Have them full of saline or succinylcholine, you know, whatever. Whatever. That will probably be a deterrent. Be safe,” she added, referring to the fast-acting anesthetic that causes a temporary paralytic effect that lasts for four to six minutes.

“Single ladies, where these ICE guys are going, have a chance to do something, you know, not without risk, but could help the cause for sure,” she said in one video. “Get on Tinder, get on Hinge, find these guys. They’re around. They’re an ICE agent, bring some Ex-Lax and put it in their drinks. Get them sick. You know, nobody’s going to die. Just enough to incapacitate them and get them off the street for the next day. Highly, easily deniable.”

“I’m just saying, let’s get them where they eat,” Williams added. “Somebody’s not going to be supporting these guys. Where’s the hotel where they eat? Who makes that breakfast? Let’s find them.”

The incident comes as ICE has faced heightened scrutiny for the tactics officers are using against U.S. citizens in Minnesota operations. Williams is the latest of several healthcare professionals fired due to private social media posts condemning the Trump administration and Republicans.

Florida labor and delivery nurse Lexie Lawler is no longer allowed to practice nursing in the state due to negative comments she made about White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s pregnancy, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said Wednesday. Lawler was fired from a hospital in Boca Raton after wishing Leavitt a “fourth-degree tear” during her next childbirth.

“Making statements that wish pain and suffering on anyone, when those statements are directly related to one’s practice, is an ethical red line we should not cross,” Uthmeir said in a post to X.

The attorney general has also targeted Miami nurse Erik Martindale for a permanent revocation of his nursing license, after the healthcare professional allegedly wrote in a social media post that he would refuse to provide anesthesia to Republicans undergoing surgery.

“I will not perform anesthesia for any surgeries or procedures for [Make America Great Again],” he allegedly wrote in the now-deleted Facebook post. “It is my right, it is my ethical oath, and I stand behind my education. I own all of my businesses and I can refuse anyone!”
