Ms. Rachel in the running for StopAntisemitism’s Antisemite of the Year award

Children’s show host Ms. Rachel is among the top 10 finalists for StopAntisemitism’s Antisemite of the Year award.

Ms. Rachel, whose legal name is Rachel Accurso, is up against nine other nominees, including talk show host Tucker Carlson, commentator Cenk Uygur, commentator Ana Kasparian, actress Cynthia Nixon, actress Marcia Cross, influencer Guy Christensen, influencer Stew Peters, fighter Bryce Mitchell, and activist Calla Walsh. The group will be whittled down to three finalists, and a public vote will be held before a winner is announced.

StopAntisemitism has conducted the public vote since 2019. Previous winners include talk show host Candace Owens, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), rapper Kanye West, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and others.

In April, StopAntisemitism said sharing statistics on the war in Gaza, as Accurso has done on social media, could be classified as “anti-Israel propaganda.” It went even further and filed a complaint with the Justice Department against Accurso for violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

“All children have the right to food, water, medical care and education. All children should be protected from violence,” Accurso wrote on Instagram at the time of StopAntisemitism’s complaint.

Christensen said it was an “honor” to be on the list with Accurso.

“It’s an honor to be included alongside Ms. Rachel, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and other prominent activists. Please vote for me in this stupid Zionist award so I can flex it forever,” he wrote on X on Monday. “Antisemitism means nothing as long as it’s weaponized to attack those against Zionist crimes.”

Christensen suggested that StopAntiSemitism included him on the list because of his activism on behalf of Palestinians in Gaza. According to Christensen, his efforts resulted in hundreds of thousands of people being fed in the area.

Many condemned Accurso’s inclusion on the list. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) spoke out against the nomination on Monday.

“Ms. Rachel is a preschool teacher who speaks up for starving children in Gaza. That is not antisemitism,” Khanna wrote on X. “I hope thousands will join me in standing up for her.”

Others noted the absence of white nationalist Nick Fuentes on the list.

“I don’t think there’s a better way to summarize Zionist organizations than Nick Fuentes being left off a list of ‘antisemites’ in favor of children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel,” New York congressional candidate Cameron Kasky wrote on X on Monday.

So many users said Fuentes should be on the list that StopAntisemitism commented on his exclusion.

“For those questioning why Nick Fuentes wasn’t on this year’s list – we have been monitoring Nick Fuentes’ antisemitism since 2019,” it wrote on X Sunday.

“While he was a finalist a few years back, his absence from this year’s cycle does not erase his antisemitism. Rather, it allows us to focus attention on other individuals who are spreading hate (i.e. we do not recycle candidates from year to year),” the organization added.
