Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Sunday continued her campaign against President Donald Trump, alleging he has turned on her because he doesn’t want the Epstein files released.
Once a staunch supporter of the president, Greene in recent months has expressed increasing dissatisfaction with Trump, inferring he has betrayed the MAGA movement he built. Trump publicly split with the congresswoman over the weekend, suggesting she had turned on him because he advised her against running for the Senate.
Greene claimed Trump’s remarks could be used to “radicalize people against me and put my life in danger” during a CNN interview, in which she said the “most hurtful thing he said, which is absolutely untrue, is he called me a ‘traitor.’”
The Georgia lawmaker alleged the widening gulf between her and the president stemmed from the Epstein case.
Greene sits on the House Oversight committee, where she has pushed the Trump administration to move faster on releasing more information related to Jeffrey Epstein, the late New York financier who held close ties to a host of influential U.S. and world leaders. Theories have abounded as to whether Epstein worked as an intelligence agent or in a similarly covert capacity for the United States or Israel after authorities said the convicted sex offender killed himself in prison in 2019.
Greene said Sunday she was “questioning” whether the Israeli government is pressuring the U.S. not to release more information about Epstein. She told CNN host Dana Bash she believes “the right question to ask is was Jeffrey Epstein working for Israel,” citing emails she said the committee recently released that purported to show the deceased financier held ties to former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
“I’m questioning that government in particular and questioning any other foreign government,” Greene said. “We saw him making business deals with them, also business deals that involved the Israeli government and scenes led into their intel agencies.”
Greene continued to press Trump to take an “America Only” approach to governing the country that she believes embodies the “America First” movement the president built.
While Trump has touted his foreign policy approach as leading to the end of nearly 10 wars that have kept the U.S. out of more costly and deadly conflicts, Greene urged him to stop engaging with other countries. The Georgia Republican suggested any trips to foreign countries undermine an “America First” agenda as she touted the increasingly isolationist tilt favored by GOP-affiliated commentators such as Tucker Carlson.
Greene also slammed Trump’s move to continue to allow Chinese students to study at U.S. universities, which he has suggested is a good “business deal” that relaxes tensions with Beijing while funneling “trillions” into the U.S. economy. And she attacked the president for backing efforts to allow foreign workers to legally fill certain critical jobs, including in the STEM sector, due to a shortage of domestic workers willing to fill those jobs.
“I can say that promoting H-1 B visas to replace American jobs, bringing in 600,000 Chinese students to replace American students, opportunities and American colleges and universities, those are not America First positions, and continuing to really travel all over the world doesn’t help Americans back at home,” Greene told Bash after declining to deny the news anchor’s suggestions that “sounds like you’re saying that he [Trump] is not representing the MAGA movement that he started.”
“I said this to him, and I will say it out loud, I would love to see Air Force One be parked and stay home and there be nothing but a constant focus in the White House on a domestic agenda that helps the American people,” Greene said.

Trump recently rejected Greene’s accusation that he has forsaken the MAGA agenda.
