Joe Concha applauds Jennifer Lawrence for realizing ‘no one cares’ about her political views

Washington Examiner Senior Writer Joe Concha agreed with Jennifer Lawrence that celebrities’ political opinions “do not make a difference whatsoever.”

Lawrence sat down with the New York Times over the weekend to express her regret for being so outspoken about politics. The actress opposed President Donald Trump during his first term in office. Lawrence remained politically active through President Joe Biden’s term, encouraging her fellow Americans to “be political.”

“The first Trump Administration was so wild and just how can we let this stand? I felt like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off,” Lawrence said.

“As we have learned election after election celebrities do not make a difference whatsoever on who people vote for. And so then what am I doing?” Lawrence added. “I’m just sharing my opinion on something that is just going to add fuel to a fire that’s ripping the country apart.”

Concha suggested that Lawrence was better off than actress Rachel Ziegler, because her movie Snow White “bombed” after she posted online to “free Palestine.”

“Anytime you want to declare to half the country that you do not like them, that’s not good for your brand. That’s not going to be good for ticket sales. Look what happened to Snow White earlier this year,” Concha said. “So good for Jennifer Lawrence.”

“Many liberals in Hollywood, for example, they’re against a border wall all while they live in gated mansions with high security. It’s the hypocrisy that bothers regular people so much,” Concha added. “Hollywood was fully behind Kamala Harris and Hilary Clinton by the way. All that got them was a concession speech and a set of steak knives. Again where’s the influence of all that support was there and it didn’t result in victory? No one cares.”

Harris leaned heavily on her celebrity endorsements, with artists like Lizzo, Beyonce, and Cardi B having made appearances at her rallies, while not all of them have made musical performances. Julia Roberts voiced a campaign ad on Harris’s behalf. Others like Taylor Swift, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jane Fonda offered simple endorsements without stumping for the vice president.

Trump also made attempts to strengthen relationships with celebrities. Before officially taking office, Trump announced actors Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone would “serve as Special Envoys to me” to make Hollywood “BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!”
