Two people were killed and several others were critically wounded in a mass shooting at a large party in North Carolina early Saturday morning, according to police.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said in an update that a total of 13 victims were shot at the party. The incident unfolded outside Maxton, about 95 miles southwest of Raleigh near the South Carolina border.
“There is no current threat to the community as this appears to have been an isolated incident,” Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said.
“More than 150 of people ran from the location before law enforcement arrived,” he added.
In his initial statement, Wilkins confirmed deputies and homicide and crime scene investigators arrived on the scene before 3 a.m. Saturday.
The names of the victims remain undisclosed. No arrests have been made at this time.

Earlier this month, a mass shooting took place at a bar on Saint Helena Island, South Carolina, where four people died and over a dozen more were injured. In late September, a Marine veteran opened fire on a waterfront bar in North Carolina. Three people were fatally shot, and five were injured.
Another mass shooting happened inside a library in Austin, Texas, on Saturday. One victim was taken to the hospital for serious yet non-life-threatening injuries, and a suspect was taken into custody. Like the mass shooting in North Carolina, the Austin shooting is believed to be an isolated incident.
