Trump says ‘conclusive’ documents expose wrongdoing of top Biden officials

.

President Donald Trump on Friday called for the prosecution of several Biden administration officials who, according to “conclusive” documents, approved Operation Arctic Frost, an investigation related to Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

In a Truth Social post, Trump named former FBI Director Christopher Wray, former Special Counsel Jack Smith, former Attorney General Merrick Garland, and former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco as the ones who should be prosecuted.

“Documents show conclusively that Christopher Wray, Deranged Jack Smith, Merrick Garland, Lisa Monaco, and other crooked lowlifes from the failed Biden Administration, signed off on Operation Arctic Frost,” he wrote. “They spied on Senators and Congressmen/women, and even taped their calls. They cheated and rigged the 2020 Presidential Election. These Radical Left Lunatics should be prosecuted for their illegal and highly unethical behavior!”

The White House referred the Washington Examiner to the Department of Justice for comment. The DOJ declined to comment on Trump’s statement and referred to Attorney General Pam Bondi‘s comments during her Oct. 7 oversight hearing.

While Trump did not disclose which documents he referenced, his message appears to be related to an April 4, 2022, document signed by Wray, Garland, and Monaco. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released the document to the public on Thursday.

“Open source reporting and public statements made by individuals closely associated with Donald J. Trump, Inc. (Trump Campaign) present an articulable factual basis indicating the existence of a federal crime, and thus the FBI seeks to open a full investigation,” the document reads.

In April 2022, Garland authorized the inquiry to investigate Trump’s alleged involvement in a conspiracy to obstruct Congress’s certification of the Electoral College votes on Jan. 6, 2021.

Operation Arctic Frost laid the groundwork for Smith’s indictment of Trump, alleging election interference, but Republican lawmakers and conservative groups were also caught in the investigation.

Earlier this month, Grassley released a bombshell FBI document revealing the bureau analyzed the phone records of eight Senate Republicans and one House Republican in 2023. Among the GOP lawmakers targeted were Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN). Both have called for a special counsel investigation into the wiretapping of Republicans under the Biden administration.

GARLAND, WRAY SIGNED OFF ON MEMO THAT GREENLIT ARCTIC FROST INVESTIGATION INTO TRUMP AND GOP LAWMAKERS

Last week, Blackburn led a letter calling on Bondi to refer Smith to the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility over his role in Operation Arctic Frost. Smith was appointed special counsel in November 2022, months after Garland approved the investigation.

During her oversight hearing this month, Bondi described the Biden-era investigation as “weaponization” of the DOJ and assured Congress that “weaponization is over” under the Trump administration. The DOJ has indicted former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, two of Trump’s political foes.
