Newsom’s press office asks ‘snack-sized’ Joe Rogan to have governor on podcast

.

Gov. Gavin Newsom‘s (D-CA) press office asked podcast host Joe Rogan on Tuesday to invite the governor on The Joe Rogan Experience, saying Newsom would “save” the show from its “plummeting ratings.”

Newsom’s press office has been parodying President Donald Trump‘s X posts for several months, writing in all capital letters and dishing similar roasts that Trump is known for. On Newsom’s personal X account, the governor said Rogan is “too scared” to have him as a guest on his show, telling Rogan he’s available to come on “any time.”

Newsom’s remarks came as he reposted a discussion between Rogan and author Jack Carr, in which Rogan said Newsom wants to be president “so bad,” but the reason he’s still in power is due to “low competition.”

“JOE ROGAN IS A SNACK-SIZED PODCASTER WHO CAN’T STOP TALKING ABOUT ME (OBSESSED! ‘CRUSH?’ NO THANK YOU!) BUT IS TOO SCARED TO HAVE ME ON AND LET HIS AUDIENCE HEAR THE TRUTH. JUST LIKE DOZY DON EH OFTEN ‘CHECKENS OUT,’” Newsom’s press office said on X.

“I’VE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE GUY AND WISH THE MINI HOST THE BEST IN LIFE! I’LL COME ON AND WILL HELP SAVE THE SHOW AND ITS PLUMMETING RATINGS!’ Newsom’s press office continued.

It has been widely speculated that Newsom will run for president in the 2028 election, with his status in the Democratic Party and parodies of Trump fueling rumors.

Newsom also mocked Trump by launching the “Patriot Shop” in August, selling products that riff off those sold by Trump’s store, such as “Newsom 2026” coffee mugs and “Newsom was right about everything!” hats. Trump fired back with his own parody of Newsom, posting an edited video of the governor wearing a “Trump 2028” hat.

Rogan’s show, the most popular Spotify podcast in the United States, played a major role in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election, as it was one of several podcasts on which Trump and Vice President JD Vance appeared. Rogan also sought to interview former Vice President Kamala Harris, which never happened.
