Cory Mills hit with restraining order after ex alleged sextortion and threats of violence

.

A judge handed Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) a restraining order on Tuesday related to allegations against the congressman that he threatened to release sexually explicit content of his ex-girlfriend and to harm any boyfriends she may have in the future.

The Florida judge found the restraining order was necessary for “protection against dating violence,” per the court document. Lindsey Langston, who dated Mills from 2021 until February 2025 while he was married, filed the injunction against him in August when the bombshell sextortion allegations broke.

Langston, a Miss United States beauty pageant winner and Florida GOP committeewoman for Columbia County, reported the House Republican to law enforcement for harassment in July and brought the matter to court.

The newly granted restraining order prohibits Mills from going within 500 feet of Langston’s home or workplace. The injunction lasts until at least Jan. 1, 2026.

The judge said there was evidence in support of the former girlfriend’s claims that she became “physically ill, curled in the fetal position requiring family assistance, suffering hives, seeking professional therapy, and being prescribed Xanax and Lexapro, which she took on multiple occasions due to the Respondent’s actions.”

Mills “offered no credible rebuttal” to Langston’s testimony, the judge added.

In fact, the judge concluded Mills lied excessively about his romantic relationship with another woman who was not Langston or his wife. Placed under oath during one of two public court hearings on the matter last month, Mills finally disclosed the extent of his relationship with the other woman.

In February, the other girlfriend reported Mills to the police for domestic assault at their condo in Washington, D.C. She later walked back those allegations.

Furthermore, the judge described the congressman’s testimony as mostly “incomprehensible” and untruthful.

The new court filing also reveals a string of harassing messages directed toward Langston.

“May want to tell every guy you date that if we run into each other at any point. Strap up cowboy,” one message sent on May 15 says. A follow-up message that same day reads, “I can send him a few videos of you as well. Oh, I still have them.”

Mills also ordered one of his congressional staffers to contact Langston and used his other girlfriend’s phone to contact the 2024 pageant titleholder.

“Having considered the Respondent’s pattern of conduct, his reasoning for such conduct, his lack of reasoning for such conduct, and his direct and indirect communications on August 5, 2025, the Petitioner does have a reasonable cause to believe she is in imminent danger of becoming the victim of another act of dating violence without an injunction being entered,” the judge wrote, ruling in favor of Langston.

In addition to the domestic assault allegations earlier this year, the restraining order adds a significant blight to the start of Mills’s second term in Congress. After separating from his wife in 2022, he is working to finalize a divorce amid the public controversies.
