Joe Concha praises Marco Rubio’s ‘master class’ on correcting legacy media

Washington Examiner Senior Writer Joe Concha mocked CBS News anchor Margaret Brennan for failing to trap Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a “gotcha moment.”

On Sunday, Rubio appeared on Face the Nation ahead of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders’ meeting at the White House. Brennan suggested the leaders joined the meeting over concerns that Zelensky would be “bullied” into a deal. Rubio objected that “that’s not true” and said the suggestion was a “stupid media narrative.”

Concha lauded the segment on Monday while on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First.

“This interview was evidence 1A on why so many distrust legacy media,” Concha said.

He continued, “It seems like people, like Margaret Brennan, they’re seeking to divide the country in the name reflexively opposing Trump even when it comes to choosing peace over endless wars, while hundreds of thousands on both sides of this war in Russia and Ukraine have been killed in this perpetual stalemate.”

Concha said the interview was an “absolute master class” by Rubio, who he added “will be president one day.”

Rubio, who has not launched a presidential campaign for 2028, last ran for president in 2016. When asked if he would run again, Rubio said Vice President JD Vance would make “a great nominee.”

Three days before Monday’s meeting with European leaders, President Donald Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska in an effort to end the yearslong conflict in Ukraine.
