President Donald Trump will honor nearly 100 past Purple Heart recipients at the White House on National Purple Heart Day Thursday at around 4:00 p.m. ET.
TRUMP CALLS FOR NEW CENSUS ‘IMMEDIATELY’
The ceremony will take place in the White House’s East Room and commemorates the nation’s oldest military decoration. The Purple Heart originated under former President George Washington in 1782.
Veterans in attendance include Thomas Matteo, Gerald Enter Jr. and John Ford — who sent their Purple Heart medals to Trump following the attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania.
