Dean Cain used to protect innocent people from villains as the comic book hero Superman, but now he will do so as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer. Cain, who portrayed the superhero in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” announced in a video on his social media accounts that he had joined the federal agency.
“For those who don’t know, I am a sworn law enforcement officer, as well as being a filmmaker,” Cain said. “I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it.”
The video clip was 92 seconds long and essentially a recruitment ad to join ICE. Cain mentioned some of the benefits associated with the job and mentioned the actions ICE was taking to make communities safer, including the arrest of “hundreds of thousands of criminals, including terrorists, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, MS-13 gang members, and drug traffickers.” He also highlighted some of the job’s perks, including a $50,000 signing bonus and student loan repayment.
“So, if you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from America’s streets. I like that. I voted for that,” Cain said. “They need your help. We need your help, to protect our homeland and our families.”
NOEM SAYS AGE LIMIT FOR ICE APPLICANTS HAS BEEN REMOVED
After hanging up his cape as the Man of Steel, Cain went on to several projects, from continuing his acting career to starting a production company to being sworn in as a reserve officer for a police department in Idaho in 2018. He has also been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump and has become known for expressing his opinions on various political and cultural issues.
Cain’s announcement that he had joined ICE comes as the agency has received widespread scrutiny from Democrats for enforcing the Trump administration’s illegal immigration efforts. ICE started its recruitment campaign in July, calling on people to join the agency to remove the “worst of the worst” illegal immigrants from the U.S.
