Trump blasts Charlamagne tha God who said ‘traditional conservatives’ could take back GOP over Epstein fallout

President Donald Trump lambasted Charlamagne tha God early Sunday after the radio host said he believes “traditional conservatives” could take back the Republican Party from the MAGA base over the administration’s tumultuous Epstein fallout with its own voters.

Trump took to social media after Charlamagne’s interview with Fox News host Lara Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law, aired on Saturday.

“He’s a Low IQ individual, has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth, and knows nothing about me or what I have done,” Trump posted on Truth Social, listing his second-term accomplishments so far. The accomplishments he cited include eliminating Iran’s nuclear capabilities, closing the southern border, and tackling record-high inflation.

“But this dope, Charlamagne, would vote for Sleepy Joe or Kamala?” he asked. “Remember, one year ago our Country was DEAD, now it’s the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World.”

Trump did not specifically address the interviewee’s comments on the Epstein scandal and how it would help revive traditional conservatism in the GOP.

“I think that traditional conservatives are going to take the Republican Party back,” Charlamagne said. “I think this Epstein thing is going to be a way for traditional conservatives to take their party back, I really do.”

“I think they know this is the issue that has gotten the base riled up,” he added. “The MAGA base isn’t letting this issue go, and for the first time, they know they can probably take the party back and not piss off the MAGA base.”

The Trump administration drew scrutiny from its own supporters last month when the Department of Justice concluded the late Jeffrey Epstein had no incriminating client list related to his yearslong sex trafficking operation. The DOJ also ruled Epstein’s 2019 death a suicide, angering conservatives who theorized that the financier was assassinated in his prison cell.

Trump also took efforts to distance himself from Epstein, who once had a friendship with the real estate mogul-turned-politician. In recent days, Trump reiterated that he kicked Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago golf club in the early 2000s and claimed the sex trafficker poached his employees, including the now-deceased Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre. She committed suicide in April.

In response to the outrage from his most ardent supporters, Trump has directed his officials to release “everything” in the Epstein files with one condition — that no one gets hurt in the process. The president has repeatedly cast doubt on the Epstein files, claiming they were fabricated by his political opponents, including former FBI Director James Comey.

During his interview with Lara Trump, Charlamagne named former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley as a possible GOP candidate he could see himself backing if she ran for office again.

The liberal radio host also floated comedian Jon Stewart as a possible 2028 presidential candidate on a ticket with late-night host Stephen Colbert, whose show is set to end in May 2026.
