Pritzker to announce quantum park tenants

Gov. J.B. Pritzker is scheduled to announce the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park’s latest tenant Wednesday afternoon.

The governor plans to deliver the news at the 2025 Global Quantum Forum in Chicago.

State and local taxpayers are slated to provide hundreds of millions of dollars in tax incentives to previously-announced tenants at the park on Chicago’s Southeast Side.

Electricity price spike expected

ComEd customers may face another steep price increase in 2026 and 2027.

Grid operator PJM Interconnection announced the results of its base residual auction Tuesday and said some customers could see an increase of 1.5% to 5% in their bills.

The Citizens Utility Board says PJM’s latest capacity cost is about 22% higher than the price that was set last year for ComEd territory.
