Tulsi Gabbard, President Donald Trump’s director of national intelligence, accused the Obama administration on Sunday of “manufacturing” intel on Russian election interference.
Gabbard, referencing documents that she recently declassified, vowed “indictments” for former Obama officials “for those who are responsible for trying to steal our democracy.”
“There’s no question in my mind that this intelligence community assessment that President Obama ordered be published, which contained a manufactured intelligence document — it’s worse than even politicization of intelligence,” Gabbard said on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.
She continued, “It was manufactured intelligence that sought to achieve President Obama and his team’s objective, which was undermining President Trump’s presidency and subverting the will of the American people.”
OBAMA OFFICIALS HID INTEL THAT CLEARED TRUMP IN 2016, DECLASSIFIED RECORDS SHOW
The documents released by Gabbard days earlier claimed Obama officials hid intelligence that would have cleared Trump of Russian election collusion.
The threat of criminal referrals for former Obama officials marks the latest instance of the Trump administration setting its sights on political foes and another example of what Democrats say is an attempt to paper over 2016 Russian election interference.
