Hunter Biden says Democrats lost 2024 election because they did not ‘remain loyal’ to his father

.

In an interview excerpt released Wednesday, former first son Hunter Biden said Democrats’ losses in the 2024 elections weren’t a result of his father’s shortcomings, but a lack of loyalty toward former President Joe Biden.

Hunter Biden has become a lightning rod of ridicule and blame following the Democratic Party’s blistering defeat in the 2024 elections. While most Democrats have blamed the election results on the former president and his refusal to leave the race earlier, Hunter Biden took the opposite approach.

“You know what, we are going to fight amongst ourselves for the next three years until there’s a nominee. And then with the nominee, we better as hell get behind that nominee,” Hunter Biden said in an excerpt from former DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison’s new podcast, At Our Table. The full episode is set to air on Thursday.

“And I will tell you why we lost the last election. We lost the election because we did not remain loyal to the leader of the party. That’s my position,” he continued. “We had the advantage of incumbency. We had the advantage of an incredibly successful administration, and the Democratic Party literally melted down.”

Hunter Biden’s remarks are likely to further tarnish his image in the eyes of Democrats, many of whom viewed his legal battles and other antics as a public relations disaster for the Biden administration.

In the interview, Hunter Biden also disputed CNN host Jake Tapper’s characterization of the former first son’s outsize role in the Biden administration.

“You think Jake Tapper’s telling the truth when he says that I was the acting chief of staff of the president? I was in that White House 12 days over the course of the last two years of the administration. Clearly, because I had other things going on, OK?” he said.

Tapper gave the characterization during his Original Sin book publicity tour, saying Hunter Biden was “driving the decision-making” for the Biden family in a way that made him equivalent to a chief of staff.

“It’s bizarre because I think he is provably, demonstrably unethical, sleazy, and prone to horrible decisions,” Tapper added.

HUNTER BIDEN’S PRESENCE DURING KEY WHITE HOUSE CALL WAS ‘INAPPROPRIATE’ TO TOP ADVISER: NEW BOOK

The interview with Harrison was Hunter Biden’s first major appearance since his father exited the Oval Office in January. Increased scrutiny has been directed his way as Democrats reflect on their 2024 losses, especially after more alleged details of his involvement were revealed in Original Sin.

One revelation in the book was a claim that Hunter Biden sought to improve his image by touring black neighborhoods to speak about his crack addiction, an idea quickly shot down by advisers.
