Mike Johnson calls for Pam Bondi to ‘come forward’ on Epstein

.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to “explain” her previous comments regarding the investigation into the late convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Earlier this year, Bondi teased releasing the list of Epstein’s clients. However, neither her office nor the FBI has released it as promised.

Johnson took questions on Tuesday during the Benny Show about his next steps on the matter. While President Donald Trump’s most recent comments on Epstein suggested he was moving forward and away from the topic, Johnson called for further explanation.

“I’m for transparency. We’re intellectually consistent in this,” Johnson said. “It’s a very delicate subject, but we should put everything out there and let the people decide.”

The speaker paraphrased Bondi’s promise that she had documents related to Epstein “sitting on my desk right now to review” while on Fox News.

“Pam Bondi, I don’t know, when she originally made the statement, I think she was talking about documents, as I understood that they were on her desk. I don’t know that she was specific about a list or whatever. But she needs to come forward and explain that to everybody,” Johnson said.

“I like Pam. I mean, I think she’s done a good job. We need the DOJ focusing on the major priorities,” Johnson added.

Meanwhile, Trump has defended Bondi despite a reported threat that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino may quit unless Bondi is fired.

House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) suggested a hearing on the Epstein files. Ultimately, Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) will decide whether or not to pursue the cause.
