Jasmine Crockett draws ire with rant about Texas floods: ‘Narcissistic’

.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is facing backlash for a social media rant about the recent Texas floods.

Crockett took to Instagram on Monday to comment on the floods, which caused the deaths of more than 100 people as of Tuesday afternoon. Some 171 people remain missing.

“I just wanted to jump on because my heart is truly heavy for all of these families. The sad part is I think that my heart is going to carry a level of weight that will continue to weigh me down as we have to continue to do our best to survive an administration that literally is against us,” Crockett said.

In the days following her original post, clips of Crockett’s Instagram video circulated on X, where she drew the ire of the Republican National Committee.

“Absolutely VILE,” the RNC responded to a clip of the video. “Democrat Spokeswoman Jasmine Crockett uses the Texas floods as a platform for her anti-Trump agenda. Over 100 people have passed in this horrific disaster. Can Democrats sink any lower?”

“Jasmine Crockett is so narcissistic that she wants you to focus on how the flooding in Texas impacts her,” another user said. “Not the children who lost their lives. Not the everlasting trauma stuck with those who survived. Shameful.”

Others took issue with Crockett saying the “terrible weather” came “because climate change really is real.”

“Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is grossly using little girls losing their lives in Texas as a tool for her to promote the climate change hoax,” another user said. “She’s shameless.”

Search and rescue crews from California have been aiding Texas, and Gov. Jared Polis (D-CO) has offered further assistance.

“My staff said y’all are commenting about my BOB! Thank you @jacorean_ for orchestrating the look,” Crockett added to the post, referencing her hairstyle.
