Musk signals formation of ‘America Party’ following X poll

Elon Musk announced that the “America Party,” his proposed third party that will break up what he calls a “uniparty” system in the United States, will be formed following the conclusion of an X poll showing a majority of respondents were in favor of it.

Musk, a onetime Trump adviser who has since trashed his former boss’s massive tax and spending bill that was signed into law on July 4, posted a poll to his X account on Friday asking the public whether such a party should be “created,” the results of which he shared on Saturday.

According to the poll, 65.4% of respondents voted in favor of the “America Party” proposal, while 34.6% voted against it, with just over 1.2 million responses tallied on X.

In response to the results, Musk signaled on Saturday afternoon that the “America Party” would be formed “to give you back your freedom.”

“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,” Musk posted on X.

What began as an idea of Musk’s in June, as Republicans raced to push President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” through both chambers of Congress and eventually onto his desk by Independence Day, is now seemingly coming to fruition.

ELON MUSK’S ‘AMERICA PARTY’ PROPOSAL — COULD IT WORK?

On Friday, Musk indicated a few campaign goals of a hypothetical “America Party,” which include focusing on two to three Senate seats as well as eight to 10 House districts.

“Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people,” he explained.
