President Donald Trump will speak in Des Moines, Iowa, at 8:30 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, hours after House Republicans successfully passed his One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Trump is set to take the stage at the Iowa State Fairgrounds to commence the one-year countdown to the nation’s 250th anniversary.
On Tuesday, Trump announced he would visit Iowa, “one of [his] favorite places in the world.” The event marks the president’s first return to the Hawkeye State since retaking the White House, with the majority of Iowans voting for Trump in the last three presidential elections.

Several speakers, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, will take the stage before Trump’s speech. Country singer Lee Greenwood is scheduled to perform.
The House passed Trump’s reconciliation bill earlier Thursday, just ahead of his self-imposed July 4 deadline for signing the legislation.
