Musk suggests Trump ally Bannon is going back to prison ‘for a long time’

.

Elon Musk on Tuesday suggested that President Donald Trump‘s former adviser and close ally, Steve Bannon, will return to prison.

As tensions between Trump and Musk flare back up, one of the biggest opponents of the former Department of Government Efficiency head in Trump’s camp is Bannon, who was ahead of the curve in attacking Musk. When reminded by a user that Bannon urged Trump to nationalize SpaceX last month, Musk said he would be going to prison once again.

“Bannon is going back to prison. This time for a long time,” Musk said.

When Bannon suggested Trump nationalize SpaceX in June, Musk called him a “criminal.”

It is unclear for what crime Musk is suggesting Bannon would be sent to prison, but the assertion that it would be “for a long time” implies that Trump would not have the ability or desire to pardon him.

Bannon made known his disdain for Musk in a recent interview with the New York Times.

“And this is why I’m so anti-oligarch and anti-Elon and all these guys, I f***ing hate ‘em,” he said.

Musk and Bannon’s swipes at each other come amid the renewal of the tech mogul’s feud with Trump, which shattered their relationship last month before seemingly cooling down. Musk voiced his outrage with Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” on Sunday, escalating criticism on Monday to include a threat to begin a new political party over the legislation.

Trump responded in earnest, threatening to take away Musk’s government contracts and even possibly deport him.

“I don’t know. We’ll have to take a look [at deporting Musk]. We might have to put DOGE on Elon,” Trump told reporters Tuesday morning before traveling to the Florida Everglades to visit a migrant detention center. “You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon.”

“Wouldn’t that be terrible? He gets a lot of subsidies,” Trump continued.

His comments followed a threat on Truth Social early Tuesday morning.

TRUMP TO ‘TAKE A LOOK’ AT DEPORTING MUSK: ‘PUT DOGE ON ELON’

“Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa,” Trump said. “No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”

Musk’s comment about Bannon returning to prison was made under a post showing Trump’s Truth Social post, indicating that the billionaire is aware of the threat but is choosing not to respond yet.
