Dan Bongino promises FBI is ‘weeding out CCP scheming’

.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino celebrated charges against an alleged agent of the Chinese Communist Party by pledging there will be more to come.

Linda Sun, a former aide to Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY), was charged earlier this week with accepting bribes from companies selling personal protective equipment during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Bongino shared the announcement of her charges, which are on top of the foreign agent charges she was already facing from last year, in a series of posts on X on Sunday.

“The Director and I are absolutely committed to cleaning up the plague of public corruption. We are also committed to weeding out CCP scheming and illicit influence campaigns,” Bongino said. “Corrupt public officials are on notice, this case is not even the beginning of the beginning. You know who you are. So do we.”

Bongino said the FBI is “in the results business” and promised more results will “materialize.” This echoed the statement from Christopher Raia, assistant director of the FBI’s New York field office. Raia similarly promised, “The FBI will never tolerate any public official who abuses their position to profit at the expense of others, especially when their objectives align with foreign agendas.”

HERE’S WHAT FORMER HOCHUL AIDE LINDA SUN RECEIVED FOR ALLEGED ACTIONS AS CHINESE FOREIGN AGENT

“During a global pandemic, Linda Sun allegedly leveraged her authority within the New York State government to secretly steer contracts to selective PPE vendors in exchange for millions of dollars in kickbacks to her and her husband,” Raia announced earlier this week. “This alleged scheme not only created an unearned and undisclosed benefit for the defendants and their relatives, but it also exploited the state’s critical need for resources in a health crisis.”

Hochul has condemned Sun’s actions. The governor is running for reelection in 2026.
