White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is holding a press conference after a federal trade court struck down President Donald Trump‘s sweeping tariffs.
The press briefing is set to begin at 1 p.m.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled that Trump didn’t have the authority to impose the April 2 tariffs.

“The question in the two cases before the court is whether the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 (‘IEEPA’) delegates these powers to the President in the form of authority to impose unlimited tariffs on goods from nearly every country in the world,” said the panel consisting of two Obama appointees and one Trump appointee. “The court does not read IEEPA to confer such unbounded authority and sets aside the challenged tariffs imposed thereunder.”
Trump and his allies quickly condemned the decision.
