Former President Joe Biden indicated that he is “feeling great” following his shocking cancer diagnosis just last weekend.
Biden made his first public appearance on Friday since announcing he was diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. He attended his grandson, Robert Hunter Biden II’s high school graduation in Salisbury, Connecticut.
Afterward, Biden was seen by travelers outside Bradley International Airport in Connecticut just ahead of Memorial Day weekend, where he told the crowd that he was “feeling great” and “doing fine.”
A local from the area also revealed a conversation he had with the former president while dining at a restaurant on Thursday, saying he “seemed all right” and “pretty good all things considered.”
“We got to talk for a quick minute or two just about the area, what he had to eat and how he enjoyed the restaurant,” Spencer Barry, a Connecticut native, told News 8. “He seemed all right — it was a pretty basic conversation, but overall he seemed pretty good all things considered.”
The statement from Biden’s office revealing the diagnosis noted that his prostate cancer has a Gleason score of 9 and in the Grade Group 5, the highest grade group of abnormality, according to the American Cancer Society. While it did not indicate the stage of Biden’s cancer, it is likely stage IV based on the fact that it has spread to his bones.

The former president’s cancer diagnosis has reignited questions about his time in the White House, with President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress calling for investigations into Biden’s aides and health team to determine who was running the White House and signing government documents.
The renewed scrutiny of Biden’s health also comes on top of new reporting from Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson in their book Original Sin, which alleges that Biden staffers hid a diminished Biden from the public and even members of his administration.
