Donald Trump Jr. revealed the “calling is there” for him to follow in the footsteps of his famous father and run for president one day.
While speaking at Bloomberg’s Qatar Economic Forum on Wednesday, Trump Jr. was pressed on whether he would run and “pick up the reins” from President Donald Trump after his second term ends, to which he replied, “You never know.”
“Here we go. Well … oh boy,” Trump Jr. began as some in the audience applauded. “It’s an honor to be asked and an honor to see that some people are OK with it.”
“So the answer is I don’t know, maybe one day,” he continued. “You know, that calling is there. I’ll always be very active in terms of being a vocal proponent of these things.”
Trump Jr. continued to praise his father for “truly changing” the Republican Party and opening it up to anti-establishment voices.
“I think it’s the ‘America First’ party now, the MAGA party, however you want to look at it,” he said, adding that his father has “created an environment where you no longer had these milquetoast Republicans dominating the Republican field.”
While a run from Trump Jr. seems possible, it could also come years down the road because he has repeatedly denied rumors of launching a presidential bid in 2028. He is a staunch supporter of Vice President JD Vance, who is widely expected to run in 2028.
In response to a report in March claiming he was eyeing a challenge to Vance, Trump Jr. called the allegations “bulls***.”
“I accurately predicted that my buddy JD would be an instant power player in national GOP politics, so your theory is that I worked my ass off to help get him the VP nomination because I want to run for president in 2028?” he told Mediaite. “Are you f*****g retarded? I’m actually glad you’re printing this bulls*** though because at least now the rest of the press corps will see how s****y your “sources” are and how easily you’re played by them.”

The president told then-Washington Examiner journalist David Drucker in 2021 that he would gladly help his son out on the campaign trail if he ever decided to run for public office.
“There are certain places where he couldn’t be beaten,” Trump said. “I would help him.”
