The Washington Examiner’s Joe Concha knocked the current state of the Democratic Party as being run by “lunatics,” citing its common stance against “common sense” issues.
Concha assessed how the party is “on the record” for opposing issues like “protect women” in sports or the Laken Riley Act, a bill to combat illegal immigration that President Donald Trump signed into law. On Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr.’s Senate hearing was interrupted by protesters, including Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben Cohen, accusing the secretary of “killing poor kids in Gaza,” which Concha suggested is the latest instance of the Democratic Party moving “further and further to the left.”
“That’s why AOC is considered a front-runner for the 2028 nomination, where she could lose 51 states: mathematically impossible, trust me, that could happen,” Concha joked on Fox News’s Hannity, a reference to Trump’s bid to annex Canada. “But look, these people you just played in that clip, they’re likely the same people who contributed to Luigi Mangione’s GoFundMe page or probably cheered Tesla dealerships being firebombed like we talked about. But I’m not sure how Bobby Kennedy is killing people when he’s leading the effort to make America healthy again, and especially for young kids like mine. So if they want to act like lunatics, this is who the Democratic Party is right now.”
Concha added that the Democratic Party’s public disapproval comes as polls show Trump is having “the best two weeks,” as he achieved numerous trade deals with foreign countries, including those made during his trip to the Middle East. He added that “the sky’s the limit” if Trump is able to get congress to pass his “big, beautiful bill”.
Given Trump’s current advantage, Concha predicted it is very possible that Democrats will have “nothing to run on” in the 2026 midterm elections if the economy is doing well. His prediction mirrors that of Stephen A. Smith, who suggested the Republican Party will win the midterms next year if Trump manages to win his tariff war against China.
‘JD VANCE WILL BE THE NOMINEE IN 2028 – MARK MY WORDS’
Ahead of the next major election cycle, Democrats have sought to distance themselves from former President Joe Biden, as both Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem (D-NY) have stated the party is looking to the future.
Trump gave his thoughts on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) possibly seeking the White House in 2028, suggesting that she has “charisma” but expressed doubt over her debating and interviewing skills. He added that he thinks she has a “squeaky” voice, and was unsure if this would resonate with voters.
