DNC removing David Hogg is out of ‘Soviet playbook’: Joe Concha

.

The Washington Examiner’s Joe Concha said an apparent effort to oust Democratic National Committee Vice Chairman David Hogg is straight out of the “Soviet playbook,” for attempting to take down a prominent face within its own party.

Hogg, who was elected to the role in February, has now accused the committee of trying to fast-track his removal as vice chairman. He claimed this is because of his efforts to “reform the party,” including bringing in younger candidates. While Concha, a senior writer for the Washington Examiner, said he always felt that Hogg was a “horrible choice” for DNC vice chairman, he added that this flies in the face of the party’s advocacy to support democracy, and that the “cowardly” move is not how to address dissatisfaction with Hogg.

“Remember, they installed Kamala Harris as the nominee without one vote from the public, and now this ridiculous — it was like, ‘ok, can we get a do-over?’ after David Hogg wasn’t saying some of the things that they wanted to hear as a party,” Concha said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First. “And apparently, Todd and Carley, he was removed due to a violation of Democratic Party rules requiring quote ‘gender diversity for party officers,’ unquote. In other words, don’t choose the best candidate, a bunch of boxes have to be checked off in the name of unhinged wokism.”

Concha added that this in-party turmoil is playing a role in the Democrats’ 21% approval rating. He also mocked how the party’s “calling card” is to “save democracy” when it is not practicing democracy itself in its attempt to remove Hogg.

Concha also gave his take on Hollywood leaders asking President Donald Trump for tax cuts, though their letter did not mention the 100% tariffs that Trump has proposed. Concha assessed how this move by Hollywood marks the latest chapter in a world turned “upside down.”

He also mentioned it was “funny” how “tone-deaf” it was that Hollywood leaders were asking Trump for help and cited how so many people in Hollywood had advocated against the president in the past. However, he suggested that this call for help is not the best look considering how the rest of California is still seeing its cost of living go up, suggesting that entertainment industry leaders are “the last people that deserve it.”

Actors Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone were among the signees in Hollywood’s letter to Trump. In January, Trump announced that he was recruiting the two movie stars, along with actor Mel Gibson, to bring about a new “Golden Age” in Hollywood.
