Tom Homan named National Police Defense Foundation ‘Man of the Year’

Border czar Tom Homan said Thursday he received the National Police Defense Foundation’s Man of the Year Award in honor of President Donald Trump and out of respect for the men and women serving to protect the nation’s border.

“They gave me an award last night, and I was humbled by it,” Homan said during an appearance on Fox News’s Fox & Friends. “I’m gonna take the award on behalf of President Trump. If there’s a man of the year, it’s President Trump.”

“The reason we’re having so much success on the border and interior enforcement is because of President Trump.”

In Trump’s first 100 days as the 47th president, illegal border encounters are down by 95%, and illegal immigrant “gotaways” are down by 99%, according to the White House. Homan argues this success, carried out by the men and women serving on the border, would not be possible without the leadership of Trump.

“So, I took it in honor of President Trump, who I think is the man of the year, but I also took it in respect for the men and women of ICE, the men and women of border patrol, who are in the street with a gun strapped to the hip 24/7 protecting this nation.”

“They deserve the award. So, I took it on their behalf.”

The NPDF highlighted Homan’s role in the successful defense of the nation’s border.

“On January 20,2025 Tom Homan began serving as Border Czar in the second Trump administration where,” a statement announcing his award read. “Within 36 hours of President Trump taking office Tom oversaw the arrest of over 460 illegal aliens who were accused of murder, rape, robbery and other serious crimes in their country of origin.

Law enforcement has been demonized in the media, but Homan continues to do his job out of love for his country and a desire to work for Trump, he said.

“I don’t care if people like him or love him, no one has done more than President Trump to secure this nation,” according to Homan. “His success during his first administration, unprecedented success. We had the most secure border in my lifetime. Hand it to Joe Biden, who destroyed it on purpose.”

“That pissed me off for four years. So, when President Trump asked me to come back for the second time, I didn’t hesitate.”
