Jalen Hurts won’t attend Philadelphia Eagles White House visit due to scheduling conflict

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will not attend his team’s White House visit due to a “scheduling conflict,” the White House confirmed with the Washington Examiner.

The Eagles are set to visit with President Donald Trump on Monday afternoon after their February Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

When asked last week whether he would attend the visit, Hurts responded, “Um…” before looking around and smiling. He didn’t offer any further comment.

Hurts led Philadelphia to its second Super Bowl title and was named Super Bowl MVP earlier this year. He threw for around 2,900 yards, ran for 630 yards, and accounted for 32 touchdowns in the 2024 regular season, during which the Eagles went 14-3.

It is likely that running back Saquon Barkley will attend the White House visit after spending Sunday golfing with Trump. He fought back critics of his visit on Monday.

“Lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT,” Barkley posted. “Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump ! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day.”

“What a nice guy,” Trump said. “I wanted to race him, but I decided not to do it.”

Other players from the Eagles will also not attend the visit due to scheduling conflicts, but it is unclear who they are.
