Ashley Moody receives PAC endorsement ahead of first race to keep Senate seat

.

Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL) received the endorsement of the Winning for Women PAC as she nears her first election for the Senate.

Moody is one of 10 female Republican senators. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) gave her former Sen. Marco Rubio’s seat after her service as state attorney general. Next November will be the true test of her popularity as she campaigns to keep the seat.

“The last four years, we saw chaos and lawlessness reign supreme across this country — that will no longer stand under President Donald Trump and a Republican majority,” Moody said in a statement. “I understand fully the magnitude and responsibility that comes with being Florida’s newest U.S. Senator, and have already set to work on policies that will bring economic prosperity, strong national security, and benefit Floridians and their families.”

“Thank you to Winning for Women PAC for the endorsement to return to the U.S. Senate. I look forward to continuing my fight to keep Florida safer and stronger for generations to come,” Moody said.

Winning for Women also endorsed Sens. Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Susan Collins (R-ME) and Reps. Young Kim (R-CA), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), and Jen Kiggans (R-VA).

“Early financial support is critical, particularly in close races,” Winning for Women PAC President Danielle Barrow said. “Given Republicans’ narrow control of Congress, we are announcing our initial endorsements earlier than ever before to ensure we hold and expand our majorities. We look forward to endorsing more strong women leaders in Congress in the coming weeks.”

House Republicans originally had a 220-215 majority. President Donald Trump chose Reps. Elise Stefanik and Mike Waltz for his administration, which slimmed the majority. Trump retracted Stefanik’s nomination to keep the GOP majority.

Stefanik founded Winning for Women in 2017 to combat the abortion-rights movement and Emily’s List, a PAC that supports Democratic candidates in favor of abortion rights. Since the 2020 cycle, the PAC raised $40 million for GOP candidates and organized events that led to $7.5 million for campaigns.

This latest round of endorsements comes after Winning for Women unsuccessfully backed Republican candidates challenging Democratic incumbents in 2024. While two of its candidates failed at the primary level, one of its candidates, Laurie Buckhout, became the deputy assistant secretary of defense for cyber policy following her campaign.
