Bondi launches task force to eliminate ‘anti-Christian bias’ within the nation

.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the launch of a new task force to target “anti-Christian bias” occurring within the United States, arguing the Trump administration would no longer tolerate it going forward.

Bondi’s announcement comes two months after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to end “the War on Christians,” which the attorney general referenced while detailing the task force. Some of the work that this task force seeks to accomplish include identifying “unlawful anti-Christian policies, practices or conduct” within the U.S. government, along with finding and addressing “deficiencies” within existing practices contributing to the “anti-Christian bias” in America.

“As President Trump has stated, the Biden administration engaged in an egregious pattern of targeting peaceful Christians while ignoring violent anti-Christian offenses,” Bondi stated on Tuesday. “The president is right. Biden’s Department of Justice abused and targeted Christians, pro-life Christians were arrested and imprisoned for peacefully praying outside abortion clinics. The FBI spied on traditional Catholics in the parishes.”

Bondi also pointed to how former President Joe Biden recognized “Transgender Day of Visibility” in 2024, which fell on the same day as Easter Sunday last year. She also noted how church vandalism was “eight times higher” in 2023 compared to 2018, when Trump was serving his first term in office.

As part of the Trump administration’s work toward eliminating anti-Christian bias, the Justice Department dropped “three ongoing cases against pro-lifers” and redefined the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act. Bondi also cited how the Justice Department convicted an Arizona man for a plot to “bomb Christian churches.”

“The First Amendment isn’t just a line in the Constitution, it’s the cornerstone of our American liberty,” Bondi stated. “It guarantees every citizen the right to speak freely, worship freely, and live according to their conscience without government interference. Protecting Christians from bias is not favoritism, it’s upholding the rule of law and fulfilling the Constitutional promise.”

TRUMP SHARES ‘JOYOUS EASTER SUNDAY’ MESSAGE: ‘WE NEED GOD. WE WANT GOD’

Last week, the White House held several events celebrating Holy Week leading up to Easter, inviting multiple faith leaders to attend. Many of them commended Trump’s recognition of the holiday, favorably contrasting it to Biden’s handling of Easter in 2024.

During last week’s White House Easter dinner on Wednesday, Trump vowed that the U.S. would always be “In God We Trust,” and that there is “so much to celebrate this Easter.”
